Choosing the Song
My group had little experience with listening to the heavy rock or metal genre of music, so it was a very interesting process when we chose our song. Ultimately, our group was between Blind by Korn or Falling Away From Me by Korn, and we decided on Blind because of the fast-paced intro that can be edited to fit the narrative of our music video. The lyrics were also very expressive and had lots of potential for many different storylines that we can implement.
Challenges
While conducting the research part of the project, my group kept in mind that we should start thinking of a plot or the type of music video we want to create. One challenge we had was that the lead singer of the song was a male voice, but my group had consisted of only girls. We felt more limited for the music video because of this. However, the issue was later solved when a guy was added to the group and now it felt that we now had more freedom to do a promo and storytelling music video. Coming up with the music video idea was also difficult to do because there were so many possibilities, yet we had to think practically about what could be done within the time range we have and the resources around the city.

What's Next?
By the next class (1/25), my group and I will finalize the storyboard, create the logo and merch for the band, make social media accounts, and continue to brainstorm the logistics of the music video. Next weekend, we will meet outside of school at Weston Town Center to film the music video. Then take that same weekend to edit it all together. During the class before the deadline, we will create the presentation and organize how we will present the information to the class. The remaining time before the due date, including the weekend, my group will practice their part and make sure they know the information so that they can confidently explain the marketing pitch of the band to the class.
